I started this group because I love fishing and it's overlooked as a fun social event. It has a bad reputation, women think it has to be yucky, lol, which isn't true. The purpose of the group is social, we would actually meet often to eat, drink, and plan fishing trips. We could go fishing as often as there is interest but I wouldn't think more than 3-4 times from April to October. DON'T fret ladies about baiting the hook or touching the fish, lol, as there are party boats and private charters …
Missions Statement
In forming this association, my aim is to assemble a energetic, fun, semi-professional, eclectic (and probably eccentric) group of artists/writers/photographers/SCUBA
divers/underwater photographers/videographers/compute
r programmers/boat captains, naturalists, philanthropists, and others to work on films, books, exhibits, and other projects that relate to the underwater and coastal worlds.
That is to say, I would like a group of dynamic individuals with varied talents to co …

"Meet with other sailing enthusiasts at our Meetup events, attend sailing education seminars, share stories, find skippers, find crew, and go sailing!! Last year many members became crew on competitve racing boats, others learned to sail, and some went for day sails cruising around Long Island Sound. Our July sunset sail attracted 40 members, and we still had room for more. Last year's "Speed Sailing" event included 13 skippers connecting with 22 potential crew members. No sailing experience …

After watching the Bucket List and the Yes Man I got motivated to create this group. I am not planning on leaving this Earth anytime soon, but I wanted to try many things in life before I go. I've always wanted to....but either I said no at the opportunity or was too afraid to do so. Partial bucket list: wall climbing, Judo, fencing, zip lines, kayaking, snorkeling, riding on a jet-ski, learning to swim, wall climbing, visiting India, Tibet, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, and Burma. I've already …

Not too long ago "living off the grid" and "sustainable living" were considered by many to be an unusual alternative lifestyle only for "hippies" and communal living. However in recent years times have changed dramatically with the crash of our ecomony and soaring inflation rates on necessities such as food, gas and other living expenses. To solve this problem there has been an explosion of interest in going back to the basics, as our families did decades ago with victory gardens and root c …
I decided to start this group because I'm a mom who works full-time from home, but i'm also a full time mommy. It's difficult enough juggling motherhood, and trying to find time to meet other moms and have a social life and support, but with the additional strain of a full time job, we often find ourselves stuck in the house working, and when not working tending to our babies, which can be isolating. There are traditional stay at home mom groups, but those can sometimes be difficult to attend …

Hello! This group is for stay at home parents who work full time. As I juggle work and taking care of my son at home, I find that it is important to stay connected with the "outside world". I'm always cooped up in the apartment working on my laptop, on my phone and when I'm tending to my son, my blackberry is just in arms reach as I am on call 24/7 with work and as you know, so is being a parent. The purpose of this group is to break the cycle. I would love to meet up with other stay at home wo …

Welcome Everyione, This meetup was created for all who are interested in finding local groups, covens, temples etc. to celebrate, maybe become members of and attend events provided the myriad of pagans in the TriState Area. So how did all this come about? As the organizer of some of the many pagan events in New York City, we know how difficult it can be to organize and run your many events. We will be the first to say that organizing a group, coven, Temple etc. is never easy. We began with 5 …
