… The Day Sail, which starts around 11 am and returns around 4 pm includes a sail and stop at Tyces Shoal, a popular boating recreation area for an afternoon of swim, beach and boat recreation. Alternatively, a sail to the Barnegat Lighthouse in Long Beach Island may be scheduled. The second sail is a Sunset Cruise which leaves the dock around 6 pm and returns at sunset. I started this group because I love fishing and it's overlooked as a fun social event. It has a bad reputation, women think it has to be yucky, lol, which isn't true. The purpose of the group is social, we would actually meet often to eat, drink, and plan fishing trips. We could go fishing as often as there is interest but I wouldn't think more than 3-4 times from April to October. We are a volunteer based environmental education and advocacy group. We run the New Jersey Friends of Clearwater Festival at Asbury Park, New Jersey's largest environmentally themed festival. Other ongoing activities include: the Traveling Clearwater Environmental Festival an education program run in schools, as well as operate a boat.
